Lodge Description
Koomerang – Mount Hotham:
The existing lodge is a quaint chalet offering accommodation for up to 8 people. It has a bedroom with 2 single beds, that can be zipped together to become a king sized double bed, a bedroom with one queen sized double bed and one single bed, and a bedroom with two single bunk beds and a single bed. There is a fully equipped modern kitchen, a lounge, dining and drying room. There is one bathroom upstairs with a toilet and 2 shower cubicles and a toilet downstairs.
Location:
From the front door you can ski/walk to along the Davenport Road to the Big D beginners run. Lift tickets can be purchased here. Bus stop number 6 is at the front of the General store and you can take the bus to Central Hotham. If there is enough snow, you can ski down the Davenport Access trail to the bottom of the Village quad chair.
Parking and getting to the lodge:
You can park for a limited time on the Great Alpine Road near a set of steps about 50 metres from the side door of the lodge. Check the parking signs carefully. After unloading, you need to drive down the road towards Dinner Plain and can park on the side of the road or in a car park. You then catch the bus back to the General store.
The existingLodge at Mt Hotham is currently under review for redevelopment into a 16 - 24 bed capacity lodge, based on a similar bed configuration to that used in the Thredbo lodge. This is partly due to the popularity of this flourishing ski resort and the demand from members to expand the club facilities.
Webmaster note: Images of the Mount Hotham lodge will appear on this page and will be updated on a weekly or monthly basis depending on how much time I have in any given month. Feel free to click on the images to access the full size image.
