Falls Creek is Victoria’s largest alpine resort and a major tourist destination in North East Victoria. The alpine resort is one of the most popular winter playgrounds in the country and offers a superb range of activities, attractions and events in every season throughout the year.Falls Creek in Winter
The official snow season for 2009 begins on the Victorian Queen’s Birthday long weekend (6 June 2009) running until Sunday the 4th October. The Falls Creek Ski Lifts company operates the lifts, snow making, grooming, etc for the resort while Falls Creek Resort Management coordinate cross country ski terrain and grooming.
Falls Creek has undergone some upgrading with the opening of more runs and extensive snowmaking facilities. It offers great skiing and boarding for beginners and experts alike. There is an abundance of nightlife in the village with lots of little bars and cocktail lounges tucked away in the commercial lodges.
Black Diamond Rush
Ride some of Australia’s steepest expert terrain at Mt McKay or the deepest powder stashes of Rocky Knobs and Dam site. Have it all to yourself when you kat ski or board at Falls Creek.
Cross Country Delight
With more than 60km of groomed cross country trails there’s a lot to see across the picturesque Bogong High Plains. You might even catch a glimpse of the Australian National Cross Country Team who call Falls Creek home every winter. We are also the proud hosts of the largest international snowsports event in the southern hemisphere, the Kangaroo Hoppet, which forms part of the prestigious World Loppet race circuit.
